2. Configuration of Virtual machines – Overview of Virtual machine extensions, Azure automation PowerShell DSC, using custom script extension and Azure PowerShell DSC to install IIS, use Azure automation runbook to start and stop VM and deploying applications into Azure virtual machine.
3. Virtual machines disk storage– Disk storage overview, Managed and unmanaged disks, converting disk storage from standard to premium, taking a snapshot of VM disk, Enable Azure disk encryption, configure disk caching, and configuring shared file storage for virtual machines.
4. Virtual machine scale sets and Availability sets – Introduction to availability sets, fault and update domains, creation of availability set and deploy VM’s, Introduction of virtual machine scale sets, Configure horizontal and vertical scaling of VM scale set based on CPU metric using Azure portal.
5. Azure Backup and Site Recovery – Introduction to Azure backup and Azure site recovery, Take backup of Azure VM using Azure backup and recover the same using backup, Enable replication of VM into secondary region using Azure site recovery and run a test drill.
6. Security of Virtual machines – Overview of VM security, Walk-through of role based access control, Providing access to VM, creating managed service identity, Identifying key security issues using Azure security centre and re-mediating the same.
7. Monitoring of Virtual machines – Overview of VM monitoring, walk-through of Azure VM activity logs, metrics, alerts and diagnostics, configure diagnostics settings and stream the data into log analytics.
